Gir National park offers one of the best wildlife tours in India especially if you want to see the majestic Asiatic lions. This National Park is located at the south west of the state of Gujrat in India. The Asiatic lions were once in abundance in the area right through Persia till Arabia. But due to hunting in the British Raj, and the animal being a trophy their numbers reduced drastically.
The area was declared as a National Park in 1965. If you are planning on visiting this wildlife sanctuary in India, the Gir National park, the best time to visit is from November to the month of May.
