Day 1: Reach Bengaluru

The first place to visit would be the Ranganatittu Bird Sanctuary which is a haven for nature enthusiasts. You can find many species of birds such as egrets, storks, bonnet macaques, cormorants,and ibises. Marsh crocodiles are also found here and with a boat ride in the sanctuary, get to have a closer look at the wildlife in their natural habitats.

Then the tour would proceed by driving to the town of Somnathpur located on the banks of River Cauvery. The most notable attraction in this tiny yet gracious town is the Chennakesava temple which is considered as one of the oldest remaining examples of Hoysala architecture.

The next stop in the tour would be at the Mysuru Maharaja Palace in the city of Mysuru. Serving as a prominent example of the Indo-Saracenic architectural style and otherwise known as the Amba Vilas Palace, this attraction was built in the year 1912. It served as the official residence for the rulers of the Wodeyar dynasty. The regal quality of the palace is reflected clearly in the harmonious mix of Hindu, Gothic, Rajput and Muslim styles on the facade of the palace. The place is also renowned for its light and sound show with an ensemble of 100,000 light bulbs that light up the magnificence of the palace at night.

Continue towards the final phase of the tour with a visit to the Jaganmohan Palace that was built in the year 1869. This place has a rich and illustrious historical heritage associated with it. The rulers of the Wodeyar dynasty used this palace as their residence following damages to the Amba Vilas Palace in a fire accident. In the subsequent years, the palace was converted into an art gallery in 1915 where various art forms such as Shantiniketan, Mysuru,andMughal amounting to almost 2000 paintings are housed.
