We were super lucky and saw tigers on every game drive!

This was my first of 2 tiger parks while in India. Having done several safaris in Africa this was quite a change for us. But we loved it. It helped that we were insanely lucky and saw a tiger on all 4 of our game drives.

A great viewpoint of the city

This is a Buddhist temple boasting a large Buddha statue. The premises that is located on a high elevation mount offers at least 270 degrees of view of the Kandy city and its green suburbs. The temple is located within a short distance of the city centre. This place of worship does not charge a fee for entrance. However, decent clothing with minimal exposure is recommended.

A national asset museum

A must visit for students, I feel pity for the government for not building many such museums across every state in the country. It’s the pain taken by SIR M Visveswaraya who has been the pillar behind the idea of such museums and spreading scientific thinking in our day to day lives.

Have you ever wanted to visit a place with a beautiful amalgamation of architecture and art? If yes, then you need to visit Jaipur. Fascinating flower market

The best time to visit is before sunrise when things are at their busiest. The sights and smells are overwhelming and it’s a great place to get a cup of tea and watch the flower sellers and buyers do their things. It gets really crowded and busy so step out of the way if you’re not part of the business. Things wrap up by 9am and while some shops stay open, it doesn’t have the same bustle as 6am.

Breathtaking Experience

We went for Elephant Safari early morning 6 am at Kohora range in Kaziranga National park. The vast expanse of the park is breathtaking. We could also see 3 out of the big five i.e. One Horn Rhino, Wild buffalo and Swamp Deer during the safari.

The safari typically lasts for one hour.

It is advised that one should take the first safari at 5 am in the morning to enjoy the morning mist.

Fort and palace of the Mughals

Visited this place back in December after arriving from Delhi. This fort/palace was once the residence of the Mughal Emperors, especially during the period when Agra was the capital of the empire. From the outside, it definitely looks like a fortress, something that can be said for many Mughal era palaces such as the Red Fort in Delhi and Fatehpur Sikri Fort. This was the first stop of the day on my tour around the city. It’s a great structure even after seeing the equally impressive Red Fort. The monumental Delhi Gate, Shish Mahal, the Muthamman Burj and Jahangir’s Palace are some of the best things to see in the building.

Excellent Taj Mahal Tour

Excellent Taj Mahal Tour. whirlwind tour that picked us up at Delhi airport, drove to Agra, toured Taj and Fort. Amazing places. Doris was outstanding, knowledgeable, entertaining. And he got us through some massive lines without waiting. Definitely worth the price and tips. Sumit is a very honest guy, let us know how we were going to be approached by photo people, how to decline if we don’t want it. I really appreciated the honesty. Our stay was too short. Suggest that one stay overnight in agra to go at a slower pace and enjoy the beauty of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

Worth a Visit

Forts in India are actually huge complexes that usually house the royal family in multiple palaces, and are actually like small cities. Agra Fort was considered a walled city, and was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi.

Of particular note is the fact that at the end of his life, Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, was deposed and restrained by his son, Aurangzeb, in the fort. It is rumoured that Shah Jahan died in Muasamman Burj, a tower with a marble balcony with a view of the Taj Mahal.

One horned rhino experience

This is a spectacular park and the drives through the national park leave from one of the 3gates, western, central and Eastern. Eastern is quieter in terms of the number of jeeps as it is further away from the majority of the accommodation. It is also more densely wooded and therefore providing cover for some of the larger animals. I would suggest you have a guide here especially as ‘spotting’ can be challenging. Tigers are elusive and seeing them in the long grass is rare but the range of wildlife here is unique with the opportunity to see close up the one horned rhino and wild Indian elephants: we also saw river otters which was a real treat. The elephant ride is a must.

Memorable safari experience in india

Wonderfully organised routes inside the forest for van/jeep safaris, guides accompanying us from the Forest Dept are also very sound in their knowledge of the forest and trails and likelihood of spotting the elusive jungle residents. They are also quite strict in how the tourists behave and conduct themselves inside the core and buffer forest area. Very good facilities including rest rooms and dining areas inside the forest trek areas too for having your refreshments in select earmarked locations.

Impressed

We are very much satisfied with the three day stay at the hotel. The honeymoon suite was big, well decorated and with a majestic view of the entire valley from the balcony. The food quality was just awesome. Would recommend everyone to book rooms with complimentary breakfast and dinner. The staff were so decent and generous with very prompt action. It is located around 4 kms from the mall road and away from the rush and hustle of the mall road. This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to.

Best choice!

I had one extra day in Delhi and wanted to see as much as possible and I was not disappointed. From the beginning Asim was quick to answer, detailed in his explanations and flexible. I wanted to see one extra temple that was not in the itinerary and he arranged that for me without any problem. My guide Doris was great. He told me a lot about India in general and the places we were visiting. You want the best view for pictures? No problem, just follow Doris, he will get you the best pictures! Great day in general for a solo girl who was not sure about wandering around Delhi by herself! Best choice I could have made!

Grand and monumental

As we drove closer to the site, the view of the fort was captivating. We ascended the hill to the ramparts by jeep. From here, we enjoyed the breathtaking panorama of Jaipur’s original city walls and Maotha Lake. The fort is a well-preserved monument from the glorious days of Rajput rule in Rajasthan, and the design is a unique mix of Hindu and Muslim styles. The fort was constructed using sandstone and marble, making it impenetrable, and it consists of four courtyards, palaces, halls and gardens. Each section is unique and distinctive.
